Explore the scenic North Sound including Chuckanut Drive, Skagit Valley and Whidbey Island. After a short drive north from Seattle, you’ll find amazing vistas out to the Salish Sea. For those who appreciate the bounties of the sea, Taylor Shellfish farm is a great stop. A rustic picnic area right on Samish bay gives us the opportunity to enjoy shellfish purchases without delay. We cut through the farmland of Skagit Valley, which is known for snow geese in the winter and tulips in the spring, along with Mt. Baker to the east. On to stunning Deception Pass, which offers amazing views from the high bridge, overlooking a treacherous, swirling passage beneath.
This puts us on the north end of Whidbey Island with a naval air station – so fighter jet sightings is a possibility. Whidbey Island is home to distilleries, cheese makers, wineries, glass blowing, history and the sweet little town of Coupeville if shopping is your thing. There will be lots of spots to snap pictures, smoke some weed and enjoy the ride. At the south end of the island, as well as the day we’ll hop a ferry back to the mainland. Your interests will dictate which shops make it into our tour!
As with all of my tours, this includes door-to-door service as well as a conscientious eye towards your comfort. There will be at least one meal stop (not included in the tour price) and any other stops as desired. You won’t feel rushed and the tour’s pace will follow your interests.
